Hi ho, hi ho...

So I'm coming to you live today from my desk in room 347. Booo.

Tomorrow we start "workshops." I say "workshops" because with the word "work" in it, you might be misled into believing that teachers actually work during these days. Let me dissuade you of this line of thinking.

"Workshops" should be more aptly called "four days of teachers in seminars on elements of education people who have never seen the inside of a classroom think are important and balance that with a few hours on how to do tasks that any teacher worth their salt has known how to do for years, causing a combination of boredom with the current activities and stress about the upcoming year, resulting in teachers trying to poke their eyes out with pencils and contemplate (and ultimately regret) their career choice, thinking that the summers are nice, but so is mental stimulation and time to plan for the infiltration of 2000 students in less than a week."

But I think that's too long of a name to fit on the calendar.

So here I am, having created my own Workshop day, in which I actually get work done. For my classes. Because I already know how to incorporate writing into my curriculum, create a powerpoint presentation, and update my webpage.

I always was at the head of the class.

At least you're starting the year with a positive outlook. Atta girl!

Yeah, I'm the eternal optimist.

I'm guessing you're a kind of "glass is half empty" girl. That's too bad, I remember the wild, free spirit who used to bounce topless on my bed and scream "Again! Again! Again!"

I wonder what ever happened to that girl...

Wasn't that your RA?

I've been a "glass is half empty" girl my whole life. Well...not my whole life. Since Beetlejuice. I became one with Lydia and haven't been the same since.

Did I tell you that story already?
