Weeding out the weak members of the species

How many times do people need to be told to not snowmobile on lakes? Apparently a few more times, as two people died this weekend doing just that. Yeah, I feel bad that they died. BUT COME ON. It was fifty degrees, like, last week. Maybe a person should just take a stroll on the lake they want to ride on to make sure there isn't open water. OR, maybe snowmobile on dry land. I know that takes all the fun out of the risk, but there's something to be said for living to a ripe old age versus drowning in freezing water. Of course that could just be me.
