Book #8 Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

Well, everything I said about the 5th Harry Potter book, about a lack of character development and the repetition of ideas, pretty much went right out the window with this book. Of course it made me cry, as usual, but for the first time the prose really struck me as beautiful and poignant. There are some amazing lessons in this book, in all of the books, about loyalty and trust, about love, friendship, and the faces that evil and nastiness can take.

I have to wait until July for the final book, and I will truly be sad to say goodbye to the characters that I've gotten to know so well over the last few months. I'm glad I opened myself up to these books...one of my best decisions this year.
